Workin' Hard

Millie has been working hard at doing all her fun baby activities.
Being a baby is hard work, but someone's gotta do it...

Millie has been working hard at "tummy time."  She HATES it, but is lasting longer each time.

She has been working hard at standing up (with a little bit of Mama's help)

She's really been working hard at trying to knock Piggie off of his hanger.

She's also been working hard at keeping her Daddy on his toes while Mama is cooking dinner.

And after all that hard work, she likes to kick back and relax.

But there is one thing she does not have to work hard on...

... being cute.  That comes pretty easy to our little Millie!

Fresh Air...

In the morning, before it gets TOO extremely hot, Millie and I like to go walking/running around the neighborhood.
We both like getting outside and we like how pretty our neighborhood is...

Aren't these streets pretty?  (And isn't the camera on my phone really good?)
It kinda reminds me of the neighborhood in Buckhead that Betsy and I used to run through.
I like that these streets feel comfortable.  I think that Millie likes it too...

This might be the best view that I have.  She is too cute for words!

Amazing Friends!

I have the best friends in the entire world!!!!

I got back from New Bern late this afternoon, and what did I find?.... a package containing the cutest/sweetest poem, an iPod Nano (with video), a super cute cover for the iPod, and tons of burned CDs!!!!  OH MY GOODNESS!!  My amazing friends from Birmingham, Augusta, and Atlanta secretly came together and surprised me!  There is no way I can ever express how much they each mean to me.  I feel so loved.  And so lucky!  Not many people have friends like that!  After the horrible robbery and all of the scary change that comes with moving to a new place, this could not have come at a better time.  Don't get me wrong, the iPod, etc. is wonderful and so needed, but the thoughtfulness and love that they just gave me is more than I could have every asked for.  And like their sweet poem said, no matter where I am, these girls will always be a part of my life.  What a blessing from the Lord!

Thanks so much to KatieLizJordanWellonBecca, Kathryn, Victoria, Joanna, Betsy, and Catie!!

(Thanks Facebook for still having some of my pictures!)
Me, Katie, Key, Liz, Jordan, and Wellon

Me, Betsy, and Catie

Kathryn, Becca, Mary Neil, me, and Joanna

Katie, Victoria, and me

I love these girls so much!!!

On another "good news" note... my mother-in-law reminded me that I put all the pictures from the first 3 weeks of Millie's life on her external hard drive!  So I will at least have all the pictures from the hospital and Millie in Birmingham!  AND Brown found a CD with all of the pictures that I used for our rehearsal dinner slideshow.  So I have some of those too!  Brown also knew that with Millie around, I could not go without a camera, so we did get a new one of those before I went to New Bern.  And now with the new iPod/video, we are slowly replacing the things that were stolen!  We are still waiting to see if the computer will show up with the serial number, but that may be a long shot.

I miss you friends!

Like Father, Like Daughter

My sister-in-law, Laurie Anne, sent a pretty funny email yesterday.

It was titled: "Like Father, Like Daughter."

And this is all it said:

I think I may have my hands full!

She Did It!!

She did it and I'm so proud of her!

Millie went for 12 hours last night without a single peep!!

I'm a proud mama.  Can you tell??

She had her 7:30 bottle, got her bath, and then went down for bed.  When I went to sleep, I was prepared for her to wake up crying too early... but around 7:20, I woke up and realized that I never got up at all during the night!  When I went to the crib, I found her awake and happy!  I was so excited I ran and got Emmie to come and see.  Millie was so happy to see her mama and Emmie that she just grinned from ear to ear!!

I read a book that my friend Kathryn told me about me called "Twelve Hours Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old."  I picked some things from it that I liked and tried to stick with it.  So for the last few weeks, Millie was at "Baby Bootcamp."  She is now "bootcamp" graduate at 11 weeks!  I feel like we need to have a ceremony or something.

Sweet Millie has had to "go with the flow" since she was born and I love her for it.  She hasn't been in the same place for any longer than 2 weeks.  Between Birmingham, Augusta, back to Birmingham and the lake, back to Augusta, Charleston, Augusta, our new house in NC, and then New Bern... she is a travelin' baby!  She probably has no idea where her home is, but one thing is for sure.... Everywhere she goes, she has so many people that love her!

Boys, Boys, Boys

While in New Bern visiting Mimi Barrett, Millie has been getting lots of quality time with her "big boy" cousins.

There is always entertainment when these boys are around.  Can you tell?

Sometimes Millie may seem skeptical of these three, but she knows that they will always protect her.

I absolutely love this one of Allen holding Millie.

Mimi Barrett's big brothers have such a sweet heart.

Sweet Charlie LOVES his baby sister.

So does Porter.  Emmie now called Porter "Bam Bam," which fits him perfectly.

There has not been a dull moment this week during our visit.
We spent lots of time in the back yard.

( Clearly, Charlie dressed himself. )

The boys even got to hit their golf clubs in the field.

Allen did so well!

Charlie's swing was freakishly good.

And this guy..
Well, enough said.

They LOVE animals, so these toilet paper roll binoculars that Mimi threw together came in handy.

What fun!

And in case anyone got hurt and Doc wasn't around, we had a few other doctors on hand...

Millie won't know what to do without all the cousins when we go back tomorrow. =(

Emmie and Doc sure have their hands full!

We love those Boys!

My New Best Friend

I can't wait to tell all about my new best friend...

She's really cute and looks adorable in her flower towel.

She may be little....

...but boy we are going to have so much fun together.

We've already taken our first trip to the pool together.

And have survived being watched by the boys in our twin bouncy seats.

We both love our Doc!

And we both could definitely win the sweetest/cutest baby in the world contest.

Mimi Barrett, I am so glad that you are here!

Love, Millie
