"Pass the Cheese Dip Please!"

It is a tradition in my family to go eat Mexican food every Friday night.  In Augusta, you will always find the Colemans at Vallarta's (the one of Wrightsboro Road of course).  It is so good and all the waiters know us.  A few weeks ago, one of the waitresses took Millie back in the kitchen for a while.  Normally, it would be a cause of concern for a waitress to take your baby and bring her to the back... but not at Vallarta.

So Brown and I are trying to continue this tradition in Winston.  The only problem is, we can't find a perfect Mexican restaurant!  Thankfully though, Millie is enjoying the search.  She is taking this opportunity to have lots of "firsts."

Here are just a few firsts:

Two Fridays ago while Brown was taking a sip of his water, Millie decided that she wanted to try it...

When we took it away she freaked!!  She obviously liked it.

So when we got her home, I gave her this...

A sippy cup seemed to fit her a little better.

Last night on our search, Millie decided she was a "big girl" and she could sit at the table with us...

Can you tell she is proud??

She LOVED sitting in the high chair and was so involved looking around that she barely made a peep!
(Thanks "Miss Vera Lynn" for the high chair cover!)

Sittin' Pretty

Look who's sittin' up all on her own!

Millie girl!!!

She really likes how things look from up here...

Sometimes she can go "hands free"...

And sometimes she has to prop herself up...

Either way, she still looks pretty cute doing it.

Even though this baby girl has completely skipped a milestone and STILL isn't rolling over...

She sure is proud of herself.

And after all that hard work of sittin' up,
she likes to kick back and watch a little B.E.
Baby Einstein that is.

(Note: this is how she watches at least 50% of the show.  Feet in hands...wondering why the cute ruffle socks NEVER stay on those feet.)

Yum Yum???

"Millie, guess what?!?!"

Its time to eat some rice cereal!!

I know, I know.  It sounds gross.  Just give it a try!

Here goes...

It can't be that bad.

Okay.  Maybe it is.

We'll take a little break.

Now you are distracted because you are sitting on top of the table.

Guess we'll try again tomorrow.

Top 10 Things

In no particular order, here are the top 10 things that we haven't been able to live without for the past 6 months...

1.) GARMIN!!!

Seriously, I don't know what I would do without this!  I use it daily!!  I know this town isn't that big, but I am so dependent on my knowledgeable little friend!!

2.) Sophie, the giraffe...

At first, I didn't really see what the big deal was.  When I first gave her to Millie, she didn't think much about her either.
... but now...

Sophie goes everywhere with us and is constantly in Millie's mouth!

3.)  Ebay

Its has become my best friend.  I love ebay.  It has great deals on baby clothes!

4). Baby Einstein DVDs

These have become the biggest lifesaver...especially during the "witching hour."  Around 6 or 6:15, you know what is on the TV at our house.  Millie is mesmerized! She loves them, and secretly so does Brown.  I will catch him staring at them and sometimes laughing out loud!!  Yikes!

5.) THE Book.

This book was absolutely perfect for my personality.  I always knew I liked schedules, routines, and instructions, but once I had Millie, I needed it!  I love this book because it was very concrete and practical...and, IT WORKS!   But Millie, definitely did not come to me sleeping 12 hours and eating only 4 bottles every 4 hours...I worked HARD!!  Very hard!  It helped me train her in 11 weeks, and it was in line with my determination to not create bad habits.  The few hard weeks of "bootcamp" was worth it to me!

6.)  Rainforest Bouncy Seat

Millie likes all of her toys...she likes her activity mat, her froggy exersaucer, her johnny jump up...but the one thing that has gotten the most use these past 6 months is definitely her bouncy seat.  When she was really little we could bounce her and keep her happy.  Now, she kicks herself so high, it looks like she is about to shoot off to the moon!  She also loves her "peeps" (is what I call them)-- bird and monkey.

7.)  "Friday Night Lights"

I know... its sad that TV show is one of our "must haves."  When we moved here, we Netflixed this show starting from the beginning and became obsessed!!  We finished all of them a few weeks ago and are ready for the next and final season to air.  It is so good!

Secretly, we wish think we look like Eric and Tammy Taylor...

Can you see the resemblance?  Maybe?  Sorta?

8.) the BOB
Bob is another one of our good friends...
Since we are walking around the neighborhood ALL THE TIME, the Bob has come in handy.
Its like Millie's second home!

9.) Nikon 3000

Clearly, I am obsessed with pictures and my camera goes everywhere with me!!  After the robbery, I was pretty distraught.  When we went to replace what was stolen, I had to get the exact same camera because I love it so much.

10.)  BUNNY!!!

If there were a fire and we were all safe, the one thing I would have to grab on the way out would be bunny.  Nonnee gave Millie her bunny and she LOVES him.  She literally will stare at him adoringly and now has to have it when she sleeps.  I thought it was pretty soon to already be so attached, but she HAS to have him!!  And so do we!

Silly Girl

The other day I went to go check on Millie after one of her naps.

I guess she thought I needed a laugh.
This is how I found her...

 Bunny on her head.
Playing it cool with her arms behind her head.

Silly Millie!
