Pretty in Pink

I am so lucky to have such a talented Grandmother.
My Nonnee, has so many talents that the Lord has given her, and she has such an eye for beautiful things.  When I was a little girl, she started making all of us amazing heirloom dresses.  Lucky for Millie she gets to wear some of them now!

I think Millie felt so pretty!

Thank you so much Nonnee!  We love you!

Thanksgiving (a month late)

We had such a wonderful time in Birmingham for Thanksgiving this year!

Millie loved getting to spend time with her Annie and Jaybo, and she really loved playing around the lake in their back yard!

We got to feed the fish bread...

and occasionally eat what the fish didn't.

After an amazing Thanksgiving meal at Baba and Gangan's, we headed down the Lake Martin for some more fun with some special cousins!

It was Annie's birthday, so we all got to celebrate together!

Millie was so excited, she didn't know what to do...

Happy Birthday Annie!

Much Needed Update

Its been over a month since a post, so I going to just bite the bullet and update the past few weeks.

A LONG time ago, we headed east to see some really fun people...

We got to play basketball...

make cute and silly faces...

swing...

climb trees...

and flip upside down for Doc!

And we ended the visit with a fire and some smores.

Fun was had by all!

Leaves

We love the fall.  We especially love the fall playing under our tree.
Unfortunately for Brown, our tree produces a lot of leaves to be raked.

So he decided to hire some help...

She may be small, but she sure is enthusiastic about her work.

She tries really hard...

but occasionally she likes to takes a swing break.

I guess she deserves it.

At the end of the day, she sure is proud of the finished product.

At least she is cheap labor.
She has been trying to negotiate payment through blueberries.

Thank for the help Millie!

18 Months!

Let me warn you- there are a LOT of pictures below, but its not every day that your baby turns 18 months old, so it only makes sense to harrass her with a camera to document this milestone.

Our little 18 month old is so much fun and is into EVERYTHING.
(Please ignore the black case she is standing on.  It was the only way to keep her still-- apparently she thought standing on it was really funny.)

This is such a fun age and we are enjoying every minute of it!

The last official doctor's visit was for her 12 month appointment, and boy has she changed since then.

Her 18 month "stats" are:
Weight: 26 lbs. 6 oz. - 78%
Height: 33 1/4 in. - 86%
Head: 18.5 in. - 68%

From what I can tell, she only has 8 teeth, but she sure likes to eat with those teeth.  Her favorite meal would probably be lasagna and broccoli, but her all time favorite are blueberries.  I have never seen a human shovel blueberries in that quickly.  She calls them "bluebees" but sometimes leaves out the "L," so it can get quite ackward when she yells for them in public.

She takes only one nap now and still adores Bunny (who she calls "Bucky").

Her hair has gotten longer and she now has actual curls instead of the faux curls she used to have.

Her vocabulary has exploded and is saying so many things.
She is also still very expressive and has the funniest faces.

She loves to play!!!

and she LOVES being outside

(Doesn't it look like she should be singing, "the hills are alive, with the sound of music" ?)

When she is outside, she especially loves to play with sticks and leaves...

She's a real pro at breaking sticks, and she has the funniest "stick breaking face."

She loves flowers (which she oddly calls "wahkahs"??)  She likes smelling flowers, and while she is at it, she will smell or taste whatever else is around the wahkahs...

She thinks she's pretty funny.

When she is not breaking sticks or smelling brick walls, she loves playing with her ball...

and she still loves her swing..

...but put the two together, and she's in for a real good time...

She knows all her body parts, but really likes showing you her belly button...

Looks like she takes after her Aunt May May when she was a little girl.  Thanks May May for teaching my child such things!
At least its a cute belly button.

Sometimes she likes to act like her mama...

She adores her daddy and can't wait until he gets home everyday...

But occasionally, she doesn't want to hear a word we have to say... and she will let us know it...

This 18 month old has completely captured our hearts and is such a blessing in our lives.

We love you Millie!
