New Food Group

So, sometimes I like to eat things that aren't technically edible.

What's the big deal??

This is My Story

My precious Nonnee has the strongest faith of anyone I have ever met.
She also has the most amazing musical gift of anyone I have ever met.
She uses that gift to faithfully serve and worship the Lord.  Whether she is playing the organ on Sundays at the Methodist church in Waynesboro, or playing the piano in her home, you can feel the Lord's presence.  She knows what it means to worship and glorify the Lord.

When she had her very first great-grandchild (little Allen), she gave him a CD of baby hymns.
It is such a sweet little CD of precious hymns....(If you know me, you know I LOVE hymns.  They have so much depth and truth in their words).
So of course when I had Millie, I wanted her listen to the same CD.
It sings her to sleep every night.

It warms my soul to hear those sweet words coming through the baby monitor or even better...when Millie and I are saying her prayers at night, and I look into my precious girl's eyes and pray that she will forever say.. "this is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long."

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know "Thus saith the Lord"

I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, saviour, friend;
And I know that He is with me,
Will be with me to the end.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Calling All Prayer Warriors

Millie loves her Aunt Kat...so does everyone else who meets her.
My wonderful Aunt Katherine was recently diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma lung cancer (non-smokers lung cancer).  She went to the doctor for a bad case of heart burn, but instead found out that there was a mass in her lungs that had moved to the lymphnodes.  Clearly this was a huge shock to her and our entire family... especially because she is so young and so BEAUTIFUL.
Thankfully, Aunt Kat is in wonderful hands with her doctor at MUSC in Charleston, and she has a huge family and tons of friends who all love her SO much!  We will fight this disease together!!!

Aunt Kat is one of those people who always leaves a place better than the way she found it.  She is a giver, not a taker.  She is funny, cool, determined, tender-hearted, and strong.  She was just married for the first time a year and a half ago to Michael, an amazing man who makes her SO happy!  All of her nieces and nephews have always seen her as more than just an aunt-- she is a friend, mother, sister, and aunt all combined.  I am named after my Aunt Kat, and I think I'm pretty lucky to share a name with such a wonderful woman.  She has ALWAYS been there for me, and I will most certainly be there for her now.

Because we know that the Lord is the Great Physician and that He hears our prayers, please keep my sweet Aunt Kat and Michael in your prayers!

My Aunt Mary started a CaringBridge page for Aunt Kat to keep everyone updated and for everyone to write her words of encouragement.

We covet your prayers and thank you for support and love!

We love you SOOOOO much Aunt Kat!!!

Three's Company

Last weekend, Millie (and her mama and daddy) got to visit with some special friends!

Millie was so excited she could hardly stand it!

My childhood friend, Victoria, along with Tyson and their little one Ella....

and our sweet friends from B'ham, Katie, along with Scott and their little one Rogers...

all got together in Augusta to hang out with each other and let the little ones play!

It was so fun to see these cute friends interact.
Millie liked Ella so much, she decided to plant a big kiss on her...

We tried to get a picture of the three of them, but this is the only one with all of them looking up.
Yes, Millie does look a little puffy....

...maybe it was because she was doing this the whole time...

Clearly Rogers and Ella are totally over the "drama queen" to their right. =)
Maybe next time.

We are so lucky to have such sweet friends!

Cousin Motor Speedway

This weekend we spent some time at the racetrack.

The races were intense...

...but the fans loved the thrill and the speed!

I think we may have to go to the races more often.

9 Months!

This past Thursday, Millie turned 9 months old!

She did great at her 9 month check up!

Her 9 month stats:
Weight: 22 lbs. 14 oz. - 97th %
Height: 29 inches - 92nd %
Head: 17 5/8 inches - 81%

This is the first time she hasn't been 99th percentile in weight in a long time!
She is still not crawling, but seems to want to.  She still can somehow squirm her way around.
She never rolled over... she thinks rolling over is over rated.
She loves to "walk" while holding our hands...but really she just likes to look up at us upside down.
She eats 3 times a day, takes 3 bottles, and 2 naps.

She has 1 tooth and seems to be working on more.

She does not like it when I leave the room, so she sometimes just "pops her head in" the kitchen while I am cooking.

She is a very busy bee, and she loves to play!

And she loves to play it cool.

Her new thing is to stick her tongue out as far as she can.

And she occasionally likes to sport a mohawk, even when its not Mohawk Monday.

This little 9 month old is such a special girl!  I can't believe how quickly she is growing up!!
