The Big 3-0!

Happy Birthday Brown/Daddy!!!
Today is a big milestone in Brown's life... he turned 30!!

What an old guy!  I'm gonna hang onto my 20s as long as I can... all 10 months of them.

Millie was going to get him a cane for his big day, but instead just gave him this...

We had major issues with the sign, so this was the only place I could put it.

We've come a long way since this time last year...

One thing is for sure, this baby girl loves her daddy.

And how could she not?  He makes her laugh more than anyone and is such a good daddy.

I mean how fun does this look?

Millie and I are the luckiest girls in the world!

We love you Brown!!  Happy Birthday!

Random Redneck

People who shall remain nameless have been pestering me to update the blog.  The problem is, I don't have anything to update!  So, I just scrolled through my iphoto and found some random pictures.  Oddly, all the pictures I found had a little redneck flair to them, so I thought I would just post those to appease the people.

Here are some old pictures taken in the yard after a sippy cup exploded on Millie's outfit.  I grabbed the first shirt I could find and forgot about the pants.

And no this picture was not taken in December.  It was March.

Someone is proud to be a redneck.

The next round of pictures are a year overdue.... Millie's room.
It looks a little different now because the crib is dropped and the bottom right plate has been removed for fear of little hands getting ahold of it.
The room is an odd shape and small, but Millie seems to like it.  And I really think she likes the painting that her talented Aunt Laurie Anne painted.  I LOVE it!

You may be wondering where's the redneck?  Well, to prevent her from having to wear sunglasses or getting sunburned during naps, this is what we had to do...

Redneck.

And you may wonder where the door to her room is...

That's right.  There is no door.

The last two random redneck themed pictures are just plain cute...

That's all I have for now!

The Swing

For Millie's birthday present, we decided to give her a swing to hang from our tree in the front yard.  My sweet friend, Melissa, let me know about this cute swing.  Thanks Melissa!
And of course, I had to take pictures of Millie in her new swing...and I will confess... I have a picture addiction... beware, there are LOTS.

Millie wasn't quite sure what to think when we put her in this strange white thing...

"How is this thing working?"

but it didn't take long for her to realize that it was f. u. n.

Pure joy!

I think she would sleep in this if she could.

I wonder if she is happy?

And there is nothing better than looking out the kitchen window to see this...

I think the swing was a hit!

1 Year

On Tuesday, little Millie officially turned one!

She can't believe it...

For her real birthday, she got to celebrate with her very own cupcake.

Just like the first time, it was still a hit.

And of course, just like the past 11 months, we had to document this moment with a sign...and take another bite out of the corner.

I couldn't break it to her, but the signs are going to have to retire...

... or at least until she gets to 2 years old.

Just so I can remember, here are her 1 year stats:

Weight: 23 lb. 14 oz. -- 88th %
Height: 30 5/8 in. -- 93rd %
Head:  18 in. -- 70th %

(the first time not in the 90s % for weight!)

She has 4 teeth, with another one coming in.
Her favorite food to eat with those teeth... peas.  Peas are still her favorite food, and really if she had to choose, she would live off of peas, mandarin oranges, and club crackers.

She still takes 2 naps and sleeps 12 hours at night.
Bunny is still the thing that makes her the happiest.

Millie is so fun and full of life.  She definitely knows what she wants and is very vocal about it.  She knows how to make you laugh and has amazing comedic timing.  Her facial expressions are priceless.

She loves playing and really loves books.  Her best seller list would be: "Moo, Ba, La La La," "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" and "But Not the Hippopotamus."
(I can recite all 3 books on command if needed).

Her dance moves are hysterical... she has an amazing shoulder shimmy that will knock your socks off.

Her hair still does the comb-over style.  Its still not long enough for a bow... we've tried, but it still looks like its taped on... not good.  Hopefully soon!

She is all over the place!  She can walk around the room pushing Huggums in the stroller/walker that Aunt Mary gave her, and she can stand up all by herself...

Yes, we are redneck.

Also, this past week she has started taking steps to us!  Only 7 or 8 at a time, but I have a feeling it won't be long before its more than that.

This precious baby girl has brought so much joy into our lives!  What an amazing year it has been!
