The Dog Days of Summer

The "Dog Days of Summer" are definitely over, and we got to spend those days with some fun people in Augusta.

First, we got to hang out with Spiderman and a pirate.
Who knew that pirates and Spidermen hang out?

I didn't, but they sure are cute!

We also got to celebrate two of my favorite people's birthday, Papa and Allen!

We got to party...

and play with our cousin's birthday hat.

We also got to beat the heat at the pool.

Who doesn't love a fountain in a pool??

We can't believe it is already almost September!  So long summer!

Practice

I absolutely love taking pictures, so its slightly ironic that my child absolutely hates the camera.
The second she sees that big black thing come out, she runs the other way.
Maybe its because she gets tired of me doing crazy things to get her to look at me, or maybe its because she has had it in her face since the day she was born and she is sick of it.  All of that to say, 93% of my pictures of Millie look something like this....

...totally NOT into posing.

So, I was glad that a few weeks ago I got to harass some new models for me to practice on.
First, I got to take some pictures of my cousin Adrienne's new baby boy, Wills.  He is absolutely precious and I was so glad to get to see him!  I definitely realized how much harder it is taking pictures of tiny babies than older babies, but he was a trooper and a great model!

Next, I got to coerce my nephews to pose for a ton few pictures.

We blackmailed them with a blizzard from Dairy Queen.

It worked, because they were excellent models!!

There were only a few hiccups along the way...

but all we had to do was say "Dairy Queen" and the smiles came back...

We tried a few with their baby sister, but she preferred to be set free and not sit still for the pictures... I guess her cousin Millie got a hold of her before the photo shoot.

Thanks boys!

Your cousin thanks you too!

15 Months

You continuously melt our hearts, my little 15 month old.

You are such a sweet girl with a big personality.

You are a dancing machine and are all over the place.

You are very curious and observant.

You are so funny.  You have a comedic timing that can't be taught.
You also have a fake laugh that you appropriately use.

Your hair is getting longer and you have precious little curls.

You definitely know what you want, and sometimes you have a flair for the "dramatics."

You love to talk and are saying new words all the time.

You look just like your daddy, and you love playing with him more than anything in the world.

You are such a blessing in our lives and we thank the Lord everyday for giving us you!

Happy 15 months Millie!
